Jasmine Ali

Singer, Musician

Originally from Wakefield but now based in London, my musical journey has set me on a wonderful path. With classical training in Piano, Violin and Bflat Cornet, I have worked in instrumental ensembles, function bands, original bands and also in stage productions. This experience has led to solo vocal performances in the West End and also lead pianist parts in theatre productions. Being fluent in Spanish is also a big asset as it has opened doors to Spanish events and performances. Ole! In addition, I work with lyricists to write original songs, some of which have been recorded by bands. I started learning the bass guitar and ukulele in order to join in with more projects and add to my original work.

The Violin has come on a fantastic journey with me. After playing with Highbury Strings, I joined the North London Symphony Orchestra in 2010 and perform in concert with them three times a year. This led to annual performances in Sicily with Peter Fender's South London Sinfonietta. I am also a recurring cast member in the hugely popular and successful You Me Bum Bum Train. In October 2016 I was thrilled to be recruited by the ELO Encounter, a tribute to Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra. In 2018 I embarked on a world tour with a signed artist on both Keys and Violin which was a fantastic experience and hopefully will open future doors!

I do love covers work, haha. There is nothing like seeing a face scream "I LOOOVE THIS SONG!!". I am the lead vocalist of Covervision; a highly successful 4-piece Pop and Rock function band consisting of vocals, lead guitar, keys, bass guitar and drums (additional rhythm and brass sections on request). We travel around the UK and perform at parties, weddings, pubs, corporate events, Universities, army barracks, you name it! I also work on the Irish scene either solo (vocals and keys) or as part of a guitar/keys duo, with a calendar full of gigs. Let's not forget The Boston Trio for Jazz, Blues and Swing and who are also available for all your function needs. Everything is a possibility so get on the phone to me!

Whatever the theme or occasion, whether it be strutting about in your Stetson shouting “Yeehaah!”, a classy piano soiree, or getting down and funky in your flares, I (and my fellow musicians!) would be more than happy to make your event a success with a fully tailored programme meeting everyone’s needs.
